Pine Lodge comfortably sleeps up to 10, with room to spare.
A large window overlooking the front garden provides plenty of natural light in the lovely spacious lounge. This warm and cosy room is full of character with its feature Minster fireplace and high picture rails that skim their way around the room.
Ideal for all seasons, the lounge has a good sized wood-burner for chilly evenings, but is equally perfect for cooling off on a hot summer afternoon.
Tastefully decorated, the lounge uses touches of green and purple to compliment the dark wood furniture and cream walls. There are two large sofas in the living room, a lovely three-seater cream leather sofa, and a curved four-seater aubergine leather sofa with recliners on both ends. There are also two silver grey tub armchairs in a period design, and a pretty window seat where you can watch the birds flying around the garden.
For entertainment, the living room is equipped with a large 42’’ smart TV with sound bar, a DVD player and a Nintendo Wii.
A handy cloakroom is situated on the ground floor of the house, along with a useful entrance porch where coats can be hung up and umbrellas stored.
The elegant dining room has a wonderful period feel with decorative oil lamps, large oriental vases and beautifully carved antique furniture that help to create a distinctive room for enjoying family meals or celebrating a special occasion.
The stylish dark wood table easily seats up to 10 and a high chair is available for any infants. Other furniture in the dining room includes a lovely dresser housing a formal cutlery set and a range of glasses for all occasions, a leather topped writer’s desk and a lovely window dessert table.
An added bonus feature of the dining room is its character red bricked open fireplace that can be used if required.
Situated towards the rear of the house and enjoying views of the patio and garden is the well-equipped kitchen, which can also be utilised as a breakfast room. The pretty kitchen is wonderfully modern, without distracting from Pine Lodge’s charm and character.
Fully fitted, the stylish cream units with chrome handles beautifully complement the dark slate work tops and slate tiled floor. Featured in the kitchen are a good range of cupboards and drawers, including a pull out larder and a central island.
Equipped to a high standard, the kitchen is fitted with a cranberry Rangemaster cooker with gas hob and two electric fan ovens, a fridge, a dishwasher, a fitted microwave, a four-slice toaster and a Nespresso coffee machine.
An informal round dining table with four white washed chairs in the kitchen is a great place for enjoying breakfast.
Next door to the kitchen is the very useful utility room, which has a washing machine, an American style fridge/freezer, a second dishwasher and a second toaster. There is also a storage cupboard for the iron and vacuum cleaner. The tumble dryer is located in the garage.
The double aspect bedroom 1 has a wonderful clean and bright atmosphere created by calming shades of pale blue, which are complimented by a decorative feature wall starring oriental wall paper with birds of paradise.
The king size bed with wood frame is flanked by two bedside tables, and night time reading is made even easier with handy spotlights neatly fitted above the bed. Other furniture includes a triple built-in wardrobe, a pretty dressing table and a tasteful blue velvet chair.
Bedroom 1 benefits from some of the best views, with the front window overlooking the countryside, and the rear window enjoying far reaching views across open fields to the ocean and Lundy Island.
Bedroom 2 is lovely and bright with a large window to enjoy the views of the North Devon countryside and a pretty tree-lined driveway. The useful zip and link beds in the second bedroom allow families and friends to experience added flexibility. When booking let us know if you would like to have the bedroom set up as a double with king size bed or as a twin.
Bedroom 2 has a pretty feature wall with oriental floral wall paper that give the room plenty of personality. Furniture included in the bedroom includes a double wardrobe, a large chest of drawers and a lovely velvet chaise longe.
Also, in bedroom 2 is the travel cot, which can be moved to whichever room it is required in, and a wood cot bed, which can be used by a small child or second infant.
The cute third bedroom is ideal for either adults or children with two single metal framed beds providing a good night's sleep for its guests. The cosy bedroom has a lovely colour theme with a dark red feature wall nicely countering the cream.
There is plenty of storage space for holiday attire in the bedroom, including a double pine wardrobe, a chest of drawers and two handy chairs. There is also a comfy window seat for admiring the view and a well-stocked bookcase.
The large family bathroom is fitted to an extremely high standard to cater for everyone’s needs and desires. A fancy double ended bath is one of the best places from which to admire the views of the open fields and coastline, whilst the large separate shower is great for washing off sandy feet and enjoying a refreshing wash in the morning.
Other fittings in the bathroom include a loo and a vanity unit, as well as a heated towel rail for guaranteed warmth.
The family bathroom has a lovely sleek and sophisticated feel, with block marble tiles nicely complementing the white washed walls and chrome fixtures and fittings.
Bedroom 4 is Pine Lodge’s Master Bedroom. Featuring a wonderful leather framed double bed and elegant dark wood furniture, it is a lovely place to go to sleep and wake up.
An impressive feature of the Master Bedroom is its own large private balcony, which captures the breathtaking views that, on a clear day, stretch all the way to Lundy Island in the Bristol Channel. The balcony is one of the best places to relax with a glass of wine and watch the dazzling sunsets that Pine Lodge experiences. The balcony, which has its own table and chairs, is also covered with artificial grass and safe for children.
The Master Bedroom has been beautifully decorated with tones of dusky pink and mauve, which give it a relaxed atmosphere and nicely accompany the wood floors. Furniture in the Master Bedroom, includes a dark wood double wardrobe and matching chest of drawers, as well as a comfy velvet chair.
Bedroom 4 En-Suite
Bedroom 4 benefits from its own bright and spacious en-suite shower room. The stylish bathroom with black marble tiles and cream white walls is fitted with a large shower, an impressive vanity unit with mirror and a loo. There is also a heated rail and a separate radiator.
Bedroom 5 is located on the ground floor of Pine Lodge and is a great place for grandparents or guests looking for a little extra privacy. The bedroom features a comfy wood framed king size bed and plenty of storage space for holiday clothes, including a wardrobe and a chest of drawers.
The bedroom has been beautifully decorated with a smoky blue feature wall working in harmony with the parquet flooring and other white walls.
An added bonus of Bedroom 5 is its own private lounge area, which has a 32’’ TV, a squishy double sofa, and patio doors opening out on to the terrace. This cosy lounge area can, if needed, be used as a second sitting room or playroom, with plenty of board games located in the TV cabinet and coffee table chest.
Bedroom 5 En-Suite
Bedroom 5 has its own en-suite shower room, which makes it ideal for guests a little unsure of the stairs, or for those looking to enjoy a little bit of quiet away from the rest of the bedrooms. The bathroom, which has a large window, is fitted with an electric shower, a loo and a wash-hand basin, as well as a heated towel rail.
Accessed via the utility room is the garage, which has been renovated into a very good games room. Fully carpeted and containing a bench seating area, it is a great place to spend quiet evenings, or enjoying healthy competition amongst friends and family. It even has its own radiator, so there is no need to worry about getting cold.
Games featured in the games room include table tennis, table football and a dart board (darts are not provided).
Pine Lodge has a large garden that curves around from the front of the house and all the way along the rear. Covering a third of an acre it includes level lawns, colourful flower beds, a rockery, and a range of trees and hedgerows for shade and privacy.
At the rear of the house there is a large paved patio with table and chairs and two additional picnic tables. Here you can enjoy a lovely summer evening watching the children play or taking advantage of the portable charcoal BBQ.
Beyond the patio and overlooking the nearby fields and country views is the pretty summerhouse, a lovely place for a romantic evening.
For the children, a tree house is situated in one corner of the garden. The wooden structure, which can also be used as a play fort, is accessed via a ladder and is perfect for older children.
